Popular songstress, Becca is confident she’ll be an efficient President of Musician Union of Ghana when the opportunity presents itself.

Speaking on ‘Di Wu Lane Mu’ on Kasapa 102.5Fm, with host Kwame Bee, the ‘Beshiwo’ singer said she is so keen on the well being of musicians.

“Most people who know me very well will attest to the fact that I always want the well being of musicians in this industry but I haven’t thought of being a president though I know very well that when I’m given the mantle as MUSIGA president I will be efficient.”

According to her, she would be privileged to research into the vital areas of MUSIGA to be abreast with issues relating to the institution before she will finally take the mantle to lead as president of MUSIGA.

“But for now I wouldn’t want to get involved in things I’ve little knowledge in so I want to do more research before getting into it. Being a musician, I’m already a registered member of MUSIGA but the only thing is that I want to do things I’ve more knowledge about. If God permits me to take up the MUSIGA Presidency mantle then I will, If Madam Diana Akumi was able to become MUSIGA President, I think I can also.”

Becca will be competing with Adina, MzVee, Petrah and Piesie Esther for Female Vocalist of the year at upcoming VGMA. She was also nominated in highlife artiste of the year category alongside Kofi Kinaata and Bisa Kdei.

Fast rising female dancehall artiste Ebony Reigns after two years of studying at Methodist Girls’ SHS decided to say goodbye to school all because she wanted to focus on music.
The ‘Poison’ hitmaker has refuted claims that she was dismissed from school.

Speaking to MzGee of Hitz FM, she asked Ghanaians never to believe any story that says authorities of her former school sacked her because of her bad behaviour.

Outlining her reasons why she left the school during her second year, Ebony disclosed that she convinced her father the reasons why he needed to allow her to start music and forgo school.

According to the female dancehall artiste, the reasons she gave her daddy some years ago went into his good that made him gave her the go ahead to pack all her bags from Methodist Girls’ SHS and take music seriously.

She continued that most people attend school to gain knowledge and earn income so she has not regretted dropping out of school since music can fetch her income more than what school would have given her of she had continued.

“Why do we go to school? We go to school to be intellectuals and also to get an income and music can equally do the same things for me. If I’ll be going back to school then I’ll continue what I already know but not for income because music is already doing that.

I’ve never been dismissd from any school before. I was very stubborn but I was never sacked. I sat my dad down and told him this is what I wanted to do. I told him I want to do music and he understood me. He was like they have always known I was going to do music so they have no problem but I should promise them I will go back to school in future” Ebony told MzGee of Hitz FM.

The Only Artiste Who Rocked Me In 2016 Was Shatta Wale – Mzbel

Ghanaian Hiplife artist Mzbel has revealed that dancehall act, Shatta Wale was her top artiste who made her 2016 year a memorable one.

“Honestly I’ll say the only musician who rocked me was Shatta Wale, but unfortunately he wasn’t nominated in this year’s VGMA.”

Speaking with host of ‘Aben Wo Ha‘ show on Kasapa 102.5FM, Gatuso, the ‘legelege’ singer explained that Shatta Wale dominated in 2016 with several hits.

Mzbel known privately as Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah endorsed the candidature Former president, John Mahama and the then ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

She wasn’t bothered about attacks on her by supporters of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) hence released two songs, endorsing Mr. Mahama’s second term bid.

Barack Obama Honours Ghanaian Artiste Okyeame Kwame With Presidential Award

Multiple award-winning Ghanaian artiste and philanthropist, Kwame Nsiah-Apau, of career name, "Okyeame Kwame" has received  a United States Presidential Volunteer Service Award for an outstanding humanitarian effort.

The award was pinned on him on Sunday 19th March, 2017 in Ohio by USA’s immediate Ex-President Barack Obama, in recognition of his Hepatitis B campaign in Ghana.

The Presidential Service Award, the highest civilian honour is granted to US citizens and permanent residents for their voluntary community service towards development.

Starting in 2009, the awardee has in partnership with MDS-Lancet Laboratories spearheaded and funded the screening, vaccination, sensitisation of over 7,000 beneficiaries against the deadly Hepatitis B disease in his country. The cause, worth applauding lands him the recognition herein.

Presented to him by Dr. Pauline Key, on behalf of the former president was a congratulatory plaque with an inscription, "Outstanding Humanitarian Service in Ghana".

The artiste expressed his appreciation to President Obama for the honor and pledged even greater intensity of his campaign towards ridding Africa of Hepatitis. The OK management has announced, earlier this year that plans were advanced to extend their Hepatitis activations to West African countries in the ensuing months.

Not long ago, he had received a key to the city of Cincinnati for the same reason, as well as an appointment as an iconic figure by the World Hepatitis Alliance.

In an exclusive interview with Nii Boye on Radio G.I.J the actress revealed that she was raised by her mother all her life.
According to the actress, impregnating a woman does not make you a father due to the kind of relationship she had with her father when he abandoned her whiles growing up.

“But do you know that impregnating a woman does not make you a father,there are people who don't know their parent, there are people who adopt children,the fact that i don’t have a good relationship with my biological father does not mean was not a male character in my life”she said.

On why she is not close to her father at her age; the actress who is a product of a broken home further disclosed that she can’t build a strong relationship with him due to her age.

Artiste Of The Year nomination brouhaha: MzVee replies Wanlov.

Dancehall artiste MzVee has reacted to comments from the public that she did not deserve artiste of the year nomination for this year’s Ghana Music Awards.

Many Ghanaians talked against her ‘Artiste Of The Year’ nomination for this year’s VGMAs when Charterhouse, organisers of the awards announced the full list of nominees. Controversial musician Wanlov De Kubolo was one of the many Ghanaians who thinks the ‘Borkor Borkor’ singer did not work enough to get into that enviable category.

The songstress believes she did more than enough in the year under review so her nomination for the ultimate award should not surprise people. Speaking to Hitz FM’s MzGee, she listed the good works she did in 2016, which she thinks helped her to gain the nomination.

MzVee stated that she expected her ‘Artiste Of The Year’ nomination so she was not surprised when her name appeared in the category.

“During the festive season, I was on every stage. Before that I had my own
concert and even before that, I was doing my high school tour. Before that
was BET and before that was Ghana Music Awards. I’ve been taking awards and
I’ve been doing many things to make my fans happy.” she listed.

When MzGee asked if the individuals talking against her nomination did not follow her works in 2016, she replied, “that is also another factor.”

Commenting on critics who keep talking against her nomination, the 24 year old said they have their choice so if she is not their favorite, she cannot fault them. MzVee continued that she has had several messages from other people who are also praying she wins the award.

A source close to the Churchill family has described as laughable, claims by Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh that she bought her estranged husband, Olakunle Churchill, the vehicles they were driving.
According to the source, who chose to remain anonymous, Churchill is in possession of the keys and documents of the cars.

“If she really did buy them, she should have taken the keys and receipts when she was leaving. No one knows why she is doing what she is doing.

Maybe, she is using their son as bait and as a means to get sympathy from the people on social media,” the source said.

Continuing, the source claimed that the actress wanted her foundation merged with her husband’s Big Church Foundation, but bearing her name.

“That was why, last year, after the Big Church Foundation had organised its work, the Tonto Dikeh Foundation organised its own too.

She did that because she wanted the NGOs to be joined together and handed over to her, so that she can use her celebrity status and run the whole show. Churchill, on the other hand, was passionate about the whole thing, as a way to help the masses and did not want it to be hijacked by someone who just wanted it for show,” the source continued.

The source further stated that when things got to a point where Churchill could not condone it any further, she boasted that she would use her overwhelming influence on social media to drag his name to the mud, then rubbish his foundation.

The source also said that there is no truth to the report that Churchill ever assaulted her as he never laid a finger on her.

Recall that since news broke that her marriage has hit the rocks, the actress used the social media to pour her heart, the latest being that her husband infected her with STDs.
